No doubt there are studies that indicate the value of having a friend. An analysis of how your life is enriched by sharing it with someone who accepts and appreciates you. The facts all come to bear the immeasurable benefits of a comrade and confidant. This is no news to the PoolSide Seven, who have leaned on, listened to and loved each other, in ways that are as singular as their smiles, for coming on twenty-five years.
Also known as the “Chicks”, two of them went to grade school together, two met in college, one answered an ad for a room mate and three were lucky to be sitting in the right spot at the Country Club when the assimilation of this crew was taking place.
All but one decided to have a few kids, three of them had been divorced and two have, since the groups’ inception, tied the knot yet again. The PoolSide Seven is decisively liquid. There are months of silence, followed by days of raucous laughter. There is banding together to help out one and the occasional perplexity when misunderstandings occur.
This group knew a long time ago that there was something magical and inescapable about them sharing friendships. They have honored the delightful camaraderie over the years by gifting lasting, classic designs, created by one of their own, Amy Ragsdale.
